Task2Gather Reviewed at 4WinMobile
James Bassey at 4WinMobile site has reviewed Task2Gather version for Windows Mobile. I really enjoyed reading the review as it is very well structured with very thorough information starting from the installation, usage of the main features and ending up with the description of desktop and iPhone versions of Task2Gather.
I find that the most interesting part of the review is the extract where the author highlights pro’s and con’s of the software and gives his conclusions. According to Bassey the pro’s of Task2Gather for Windows Mobile are:
- The usual beautiful interface from Vito
- Incredibly simple – you will not need a manual
- Very flexible
- Scales easily from small to enormous projects
- Integrates very well with the web-based interface
- The price
I can’t help but agree with the pro’s that are stated by the reviewer.
As for the con’s they are the following:
- You have to enter your password every time you run it
We shall fix this in the next version.
- It would be nice to be able to define what the colours represent
We are planning to add this feature to the desktop version and on Windows Mobile it would possibly be able to look at the legend. Moreover the legend is going to be assigned to the separate project, so each project can have different legends.
- No reports (these are in the free web-based product)
The reports can be generated only at destop version. At the moment there are the following reports:
User statistics (you can specify the project name, participant name, time period and get to know how active the user is, which tasks he/she created, which task are assigned to him/her, which tasks completed and which are not)
Project statistics (you can specify the project, participant, time period and get to know about the user’s activity in each separate project)
Project progress (you can specify the project name and time period and get to know about total estimated and spent time on the project tasks)
