Task2Gather review at Know Your Mobile site

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Dave Oliver posted a nice review of Task2Gather for Windows Mobile. The review seems to be just to the point covering all important features of the application. Besides the author singles out not only good points of the application but also some of the drawbacks:

As a day-to-day task manager, it’s probably a little cumbersome – you’d be better off with TasksPlus or Remember The Milk. But for organising projects it makes perfect sense - it’s easy to set up and use, you can organise new or existing projects on the hoof and discuss them with your colleagues as you go. Notifications and alerts would make it more useful, with an alarm or an email to inform you of changes, but even so, it’s a decent, no-frills project organiser.

CNET advises you several task managers to organize your life

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

CNET published an interesting article covering several online task managers: Gmail Tasks, Nozbe, Remember the Milk, Ta-Da Lists, Todoist, Voo2do. The author underlines the remarkable features of each of the online task manager and gives preference to:

1. Remember the Milk: If you want Outlook-like quality with nice design, Remember the Milk is where you’ll find it.

2. Toodledo: Toodledo offers some serious power in a nice package.

3. Nozbe: It could easily pull you away from Outlook.

Reading this article made me think about how often people change their task managers if ever they do this? And if they decide to do it what are the crucial features that make them change their task manager?

A ”wrong task list” in top 5 mistakes for task management

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

From a Women Business website we found a useful list of usual mistakes in time and tasks and time management. Please let us know if you agree or if you have found others and how T2G (see point 3) can help you in making the most of your time and task management!

#1 Mistake: Being a slave to your email or cell phone (and now Twitter)

By learning how to manage these tools, you can often reclaim a full hour of productive time every day.

#2 Mistake: Fighting fires

When you take care of tasks before they become emergencies, they often require less time, energy and resources and turn out better, are more creative and even more profitable than they do as full-fledged emergencies.

#3 Mistake: Not using an effective task list

An effective task list, adapted to your needs and style, is an extraordinarily powerful tool to save time and increase your productivity.

#4 Mistake: Ignoring your personal time management style

Knowing your learning style (visual, auditory, kinestetic) will allow you to develop tools and strategies that actually work for you.

#5 Mistake: No contingency planning

What if you child gets sick the evening before an important meeting? Having a backup plan, allows you to immediately spring into action and deal with the emergency effectively and quickly.
